Columbia County Co-Parenting Program

The Co-Parenting Program at CCCC is supported by a grant from Georgia’s Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF). It concentrates on helping youth and their families communicate better and create an environment where everyone can be productive. The Strengthening Families Program is nationally known for contributing to reduce delinquency and improve academic success.

The reinvention of co-parenting has birthed a village of people who choose to display how committed they are to working together to raise healthy, nurtured children. The name of our village is i-coparent. The name answers the question, if you are no longer with your child’s mother or father, how are you raising your child…our collective response, i-coparent.

Through our program, we provide tangible actions on how to mitigate topics like:

  • What helps and hurts children during and after divorce or separation?

  • Making a point without making an enemy

  • Negative situations: where must the change begin?

  • Making positive lifetime memories for your children.

  • Recognizing and avoiding use of fighting words

  • Effective communication with your co-parent

  • Effectively resolving conflict

  • The magic of ‘we.’

  • Language matters.

  • Parenting traps to avoid

  • Parenting in the digital age

  • Peaceful transitions
