OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER
OF THE YEAR
At Columbia County Community Connection, we believe that volunteers are the heart of our mission. Each year, we recognize one exceptional individual with the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award—a testament to their dedication, passion, and service to our community.
This award is given to a volunteer who has gone above and beyond, demonstrating unwavering commitment to making a difference. Whether through countless hours of service, innovative problem-solving, or inspiring leadership, this individual embodies the spirit of generosity and community.
Our volunteers make what we do possible. They uplift children and families, support vital programs, and bring hope to those who need it most. The Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award is our way of saying thank you to those who give so selflessly, ensuring that Columbia County remains a place of opportunity, support, and kindness for all.
2025 Recipient - Mr. Anthony Sweat
James H. Sweat (JHS) Foundation
Anthony Sweat, founder of the James H. Sweat Foundation, has been a dedicated partner of Columbia County Community Connections for nearly a decade. Inspired by his great-grandfather’s belief in caring for both the elderly and children, Anthony has led JHS in making a lasting impact—preparing over 20,000 snack sacks for Food 4 Kids, providing meals for families in need, supporting survivors of sex trafficking, and helping seniors with essential needs. His passion for service continues to uplift our community, proving that small efforts, when united, create extraordinary change.
